Assignment Purpose:

                To increase awareness of cultural competence, assumptions, biases, and stereotypes.

Assignment Requirements:

Part One:

                Perform an internet search on cultural competence, assumptions, biases, and stereotypes. Locate at least three peer reviewed references.

Part Two:

From the information that you have located create a Power Point presentation. Your presentation must include the following:

  • At least four slides that explains cultural competence and its importance
  • At least three slides that explains assumptions  – at least one slide must contain examples
  • At least three slides that explains biases  – at least one slide must contain examples
  • At least three slides that explains stereotypes  – at least one slide must contain examples
  • A title slide and a reference slide

Slides must be presentation ready

  • Easy to read  – at least 24 point font
  • Contain speaker notes (Use notes section)
  • Contain graphics
  • Background and font colors are not distracting from the materials being presented.
