Diversion is the process of placing youths suspected of delinquent acts into treatment-oriented programs prior to formal trial and dispositions. Diversion is an important concept in juvenile justice as it provides certain youth with an opportunity to avoid criminal prosecution and labeling. It is not important whether you agree or disagree with your teams’ stance, but rather that you are able to support your side of the argument with evidence and examples.
